Some time ago I asked Tina from Traveling Mama if she would like to answer some questions about her travels and experiences with traveling. She said yes, and this little interview is the result! As she writes on her blog, Tina is a “…Traveling Mama, lifestyle stylist, photographer, wife and mother of three kids”. Her blog is about her and her family’s Flying House, the places they go and the home they make along the way. Originally they’re from the United States, but have previously lived in Morocco. In 2010 the family moved to Copenhagen, and later this year they will return to the States. Truly a traveling tribe.
Thank you so much for your time, Tina! Visit Tina’s blog Traveling Mama here.
About Traveling Mama
Traveling Mama is a travel and lifestyle blog for the creative and the restless. I started Traveling Mama about 7 years ago as a way of keeping in touch with our family. We had just moved to a small town in Morocco and our family was really worried about what our life would be like in the Arab world. We wanted to reassure them that we were happy.
Behind Traveling Mama
Where have you been traveling in the world and for how long how you been living away from the States?
We have been to many, many places. I started traveling outside the US from the age of 15 and have always dreamed of living abroad. Of the nearly 15 years that we have been married, my husband and I have lived 10 of those years in another country, including Spain, Morocco, and now Denmark.
What’s your favorite country so far?
That is too hard! We have loved everywhere we have been but we feel most content and settled in Denmark.
If you should only say one positive thing about traveling/living abroad, what would it be?
It will open your eyes, so just book a ticket and go!
And if you should say one negative thing about traveling/living abroad, what would it be?
Watch your pockets. Getting robbed will damper your travel fun, but don’t let it keep you down!
Your best travel advice or advice for living abroad?
Don’t expect the world to be like you, but allow room in your heart and mind for new faces and new ideas.
What is your dream destination?
Another impossible question. My list is endless! A ruckus luau in Maui, the green rolling hills of Scotland, the endless beaches of Fiji, the symphony in Vienna, a ballet in Moscow? I could keep going…
What is your favorite travel moment so far or favorite moment in Denmark?
Some of my favorite days in Denmark have been quiet ones that pass nearly without notice, such as when we pack a picnic lunch and head to the beach in the summer sun. Summertime is so magical here. It makes the winters so worth it!
The best thing about Denmark?
The Danes. Everyone says they are cold, but truthfully, they are some of the nicest and most gentle people on the planet.
The oddest thing about Denmark?
That no one talks to each other at the gym! 🙂
