Som I nok har bemærket i nyhederne, er der landet ret meget sne på østkysten, og i NYC er det så slemt, at man risikerer at blive anholdt, hvis man bevæger sig udendørs andet end til fods i det vilde vejr og de store snemængder. Så voldsomt står det heldigvis ikke til hos os. Siden vi landede sidste lørdag, har vi bevæget os fra udkanten af LA til det sydøstlige hjørne af Utah og til det nordlige Arizona, hvor vi befinder os nu.
For et par dage siden i Utah lagde vi bl.a. vejen forbi to nationalparker, Zion og Bryce, som vi faktisk allerede har besøgt én gang før, nemlig i 2014, da vi kørte rundt i USA i to måneder. Dengang var det dog efterår, vejret var mildt og der var farverige blade på træerne. Nu er det under 5 grader, det er koldt og der er ingen blade på træerne. Men hold op hvor er landskabet altså stadig vanvittigt pænt!
Bryce Canyon var vi ikke synderligt begejstret for da vi besøgte parken i 2014 (det har nok meget at gøre med, at vi delte parken med flere tusinde andre), men med sne er det altså et helt andet syn! Jeg tror vi har været heldige med tidspunktet, for der må være faldet en del sne for bare et par uger siden, men da vi kørte rundt, skinnede solen fra en næsten skyfri himmel, og samtidig lå det meste af sneen stadig og prydede det vilde bjerglandskab. Det giver altså en helt anden oplevelse at køre rundt i et snedækket landskab, og selvom vi har kørt ad de samme veje før, har vi stadig ikke fået nok. Bryce tog i hvert fald pusten fra os på en måde som vi ikke oplevede i oktober i 2014, hvor der selvfølgelig ikke var sne.
Har I overvejet at tage på roadtrip i vintermånederne? Måske i USA, måske i Europa? Jeg havde egentlig ikke regnet med det helt store, men glædede mig alligevel til at opleve USA på et andet tidspunkt af året end vi hidtil har prøvet. Og indtil videre har det i hvert fald ikke skuffet 😉 Måske I forstår hvorfor når I ser billederne herunder fra vores tur til Bryce Canyon!

Det er lidt vildt at se hvilken forskel sneen gør – vores (manglende) begejstring fra dengang er vidst heller ikke til at tage fejl af, når man læser det indlæg, haha. Og så er det vidst også tydeligt at se hvad Photobucket gør ved billeder 😛 Til gengæld er det fedt at opleve den forskel vores nye objektiv gør når vi tager landskabsbilleder! Billederne herunder er en blanding af vores standard-objektiv og vores nye ultra wide.

Det er sjovt hvor meget et landskab og stemningen kan forandre sig af sne 🙂
Jeg ville rigtig gerne opleve Yellowstone med sne nu hvor jeg har oplevet det uden. Min kærestes farmor var der i nogle uger en vinter og siger det var helt fantastisk selvom meget af parken ikke var tilgængelig pga snemasserne 🙂

Kunne forestille mig at se også var flot i Yellowstone – gad virkelig godt opleve den park i det hele taget. Lige præcis der har vi endnu ikke været forbi 😉

Jeg er nødt til at høre jeres hemmelighed.. Hvordan får I det hele til at hænge sammen, både ift. økonomi, men også ift. studier? Har I taget orlov på ubestemt tid eller hvordan? Og hvordan sparer I op når I er studerende 😀 jeg kan knap betale min husleje, hvis jeg ikke også har et job ved siden af, som der jo også skal være tid til
Haha, vi har desværre ikke nogen hemmelighed, rig onkel eller en vild trust fund 😉 Jeg kan godt forstå at du er nysgerrig, for det virker måske også lidt skørt udefra. Vi har taget orlov et år fra vores studier, så vi har ingen indtjening nu. Da vi var studerende, var vi så privilegerede at bo rigtig billigt, hvilket gjorde at vi kunne spare op løbende. Den lejlighed er dog solgt nu. Vi får dog sikkert ikke en så billig husleje igen, så det bliver nok sværere at spare op fremover 🙂
